The Beaches Heritage Centre

Our state of the art facility opened in June 2001, under the stewardship of the Eastport Peninsula Heritage Society. It's an historic building that engenders great sentiment for many residents of our community. Constructed in the early 20th century, the property has originally served as a school. When it closed in 1968, the property evolved as the key venue for cultural arts and entertainment shows.

Salmonid Interpretation Centre

Exhibits on the main floor highlight the development as well as the history, biology, ecology and habitat of the Atlantic Salmon. Visit the observation level and view the "King of Fish" as it migrates upstream to its spawning habitat. Outport Museum & Tea Room

Built in the early 1940s, this two-story house is an authentic example of port living. Filled with décor of that time period, one can get a sense of what outport life was like. View the replica of a 16th century Basque fishing vessel, the Chaloupe is an integral part of our French heritage. Norton's Cove Studio Inc

Norton's Cove Studio offers a behind-the-scenes look at the art of non-toxic printmaking by Janet Davis. Watch as Janet draws, etches, inks, and prints copper plates. Janet also uses relief printmaking and textile based techniques such as hand embroidery, quilting, and mat hooking. The setting itself is an authentic c.1890 general store. Janet always welcomes guests, and is happy to show off the historic J. Kean Shop to those with an interest in our built heritage.

North Atlantic Aviation Museum

A variety of artifacts and displays chronicling Gander's role in development of transatlantic aviation, from the 1930s through 9/11, including steel recovered from the World Trade Center. Airframes include a 1940s canvas-covered Tiger Moth biplane, North America's last intact Lockheed Hudson Bomber and other military and civilian aircraft. Aircraft engines, machine guns, uniforms and interactive displays.

Noah's on The Point

King's Point Pottery Craft Gallery and Studio

KPP produces two lines of pottery.  "Waves and Whales" is an award winning, blue and white functional stoneware line, featuring decorative motifs celebrating the natural splendour outside KPP.  The other is "Firescapes" a sumptuous line of one of a kind salt/soda plates and vessels that have been showcased in The Rooms Provincial Art Gallery and as far as the Cheongju International Craft Biennale in South Korea.

The Gathering

The Gathering: Fire, Food, and Music is a festival focused on celebrating the unique culture and cuisine of Newfoundland and Labrador. Born as the inaugural event for a new non-profit organization, OME, headed by comedian and fellow NL Native, Shaun Majumder, this festival is a back to the elements experience, filled with culinary delights and intimate cooking and dining experiences, in celebration of all things Newfoundland.

The Newfoundland Tea Co.

This relaxing and inviting restaurant & handmade boutique has a warm atmosphere and offers high quality, freshly prepared meals. There is a sweet gift shop onsite that features a great selection of teas, candles, jams, jewelry and art. Open Tuesday to Saturday for lunch at 11:30am - 3pm and for supper from 5pm - 10pm, with the last seating at 8pm.
