Airport Nordic Ski Club

The Airport Nordic Ski Club (ANSC) is located 3 km west of Gander, Newfoundland & Labrador on the Trans Canada Highway. The club has 16 km of trails for both classic and skate skiing groomed by a Piston Bully Groomer, and 5.5 km of dedicated snowshoe trails. Ski 4 km of lighted trails nightly from dusk until 10 PM (weather and snow conditions permitting). The club is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization, deeply rooted in the community of Gander and the surrounding area. The ANSC strives to maintain a fun, family-oriented environment, and the club organizes many activities and programs including family fun days, socials and fundraising events, Jackrabbit ski program, and a variety of competitive ski races including the Gander Invitational.

At the Dover Town Hall, you'll find an Interpretation Centre with information about the Dover Fault and the history of our town. A sign at the Town Hall will point you to a trail leading up to the Lookout—a great vantage point overlooking the town of Dover and some of the islands of Bonavista Bay. Be sure to take your camera: the view is breathtaking. Along the trail, stop to see the remnants of the wreckage of the WWII Digby B18 Bomber. The panels tell the story of the hospitality shown by the Dover residents who took in the downed airmen and gave them hot meals and dry clothing.

North Atlantic Aviation Museum

Norton's Cove Studio Inc

Norton's Cove Studio offers a behind-the-scenes look at the art of non-toxic printmaking by Janet Davis. Watch as Janet draws, etches, inks, and prints copper plates. Janet also uses relief printmaking and textile based techniques such as hand embroidery, quilting, and mat hooking. The setting itself is an authentic c.1890 general store. Janet always welcomes guests, and is happy to show off the historic J. Kean Shop to those with an interest in our built heritage.

The Beaches Heritage Centre

Twillingate Historic Fishing Vessels Inc.

The Twillingate Isles Wooden Boat Museum opened its doors in July 2017 after years of hard work by the Twillingate Isles Wooden Boat Builders Committee. Affiliated with the Wooden Boat Museum of Newfoundland and Labrador, this museum, the Twillingate boat museum aims to preserve the boat building history of Twillingate and area and also teach these skills. The museum is in the historic St. Peter's Anglican Parish Hall. Downstairs, visitors can view numerous displays depicting the boat building history of Twillingate while the upstairs has been set up as boat building workshop space.
